Courtesy Is Dead...

You listen to the news each night and hear how the rate of people without jobs is less and less; but are you really hearing the full story? The reason for there being less unemployment, is because people have exhausted the resource in an effort to find a job that is similar at least in pay to what they were making. Once the resource of unemployment has been completely used, the bill people don't say, "they're not collecting anymore...let's give them a break til they are back on their feet again.". The result is that you have someone in middle class America that was making 45 to 60k per year that has to take an $8 per hour job so that they have lights in their house when they get home.

THE SNOWBALL EFFECT...
Now the government can't figure out why middle class America isn't doing well, and why business is down. I am not a rocket scientist, but...here is my guess...since the 45 to 60k person is now making $8 per hour, they can barely afford to pay the necessities, and don't have the spare income to be extravegant in such ways as turning their heat above 60 or getting the oil changed in their car. So what does the government propose to ease the burden??? Let's give them $800 at tax time so they will spend it in retail stores and raise the economy...but that won't happen because the 45-60k person is catching up on the bills that they owe from when they were making 45-60k and now only make $8 per hour.

THE WORK FORCE...
What little there is left to speak of that has not gone to another country (yet), is in a position to be able to pick and choose from whomever they wish without even the courtesy of getting back to you if they don't want you. When you are hired, you are expected to be a "PEOPLE" person, and to treat the patrons of wherever you are working with the utmost respect. However, the internal people that deal with the people that send them applications do not in any way shape or form treat their applicants with any sort of respect whatsoever. In these days of being able to set an away message when you are on vacation, an HR department can't even set up a form letter saying "Thank you for your application, we will contact you should we find your credentials suitable to the position we are offering."? You send out your resume and your applications everywhere, and listen intently to the silence. Not even a "Thank you for your submission.". However if you get the job and treat patrons as you were initially treated by the upper management of the company...you will be collecting again, and end up working in an even lower paying job, and fall further behind.

THERE IS A RECESSION ON THE HORIZON...
WAKE UP WASHINGTON...It's been here for awhile! Of course you don't feel it, because you have padded yourselves very well and have learned how to play the sympathetic role to the public oh so well. While President Bush travels to the Middle East to see that his interests are well protected, he sees how well he is going to be doing for generations to come, and decides on the way home to give everyone $800 to go play with.
